But these aren't just stories. This is happening to real live people. Every day.
And it breaks my heart!
There’s a message bein’ piped into our ears, our eyes, our souls.
And that message is:
"Fear the Other"
The message of “the other” is an old one.
Ancient as Babel, wicked as Cain.
But dressed up in modern clothes!
It says:
“Don’t trust them — they don’t look like you.”
"Don't befriend them - they don't love like you."
“Don’t hear them — they don’t vote like you.”
“Don’t help them — they don’t pray like you.”
But guess what?
The “other” ain’t real.
The “other” is a ghost —
A phantasm!
A sleight of hand trick, orchestrated by the wealthiest magicians the world has ever seen!
It is a weapon of mass distraction.
While you're busy kicking down, they’re picking your pocket and stealing your future!
I know, you don't want to believe it.
You don't want to believe that they're doing this on purpose.
You don't want to believe that they know exactly what they're doing.
Why?
Because you still believe that someday, if…Just if…
You work hard enough, try long enough, sacrifice enough…
Because you still believe that someday, if…Just if…

There’s a message echoing through the airwaves.
It’s on your phone.
It’s in your feed.
It’s comin’ from your TV.
From pulpits and politicians.
From boardrooms and bullet points.
And that message is simple.
It’s seductive.

It says:
“Fear the other.”
They divide us by race.
By class.
By gender.
By borders.
By beliefs.
But the “other” ain’t real.
Why do they preach it?
Because division is distraction.
Because while we fight each other…
They keep their power and our money.
Oh yes.
They know what they’re doin’.
See, the people in power —
They know the truth:
We out-number them.
We out-love them.
We out-dream them.
But if we ever realized that —
Truly realized that —
It would be over.
So they whisper into your weary soul:
“Beware the immigrant.”
“Blame the poor.”
“Hate the other side.”
“Resent the protester.”
“Mock the different.”
But, I'm telling you the “other” ain’t real.
The “other” is a ghost —
A phantasm!

The System Isn’t Broken, It’s Working Exactly As Designed
I know you're in pain.
I know you're suffering.
The dream of a better life is just that, a dream, and you know it!
And they know it!
They designed the system!
And the system is NOT broken, it works exactly as designed.
They say “Look over here!”
While they steal your wages,
Poison your water,
Buy your politicians,
Raise their prices.
The magicians say "Look over here!"
And laugh — They are laughing at how easy it was
To turn you against yourself.
They give you someone to kick down at, and you want to believe them!
Why?
Because it's easy!
It's easy to believe that the cause of all your problems is someone you've been told is lesser than you, because that feels fixable.
But your suffering ain’t caused by the family next door!
It ain’t caused by the poor,
It ain’t caused by the refugee,
It ain’t caused by the teacher or the trans kid or the tired single mother.
They don't have the time, the money or the power to rob you blind, destroy your life, and steal your future!

You are someone else's "other"
You are someone else's "other".
With the waves of hate rolling through my country, I'll admit, I've looked into leaving. Never in my life did I think I'd abandon the country that my ancestors built, but here I am, giving the idea serious consideration. And do you know what I've learned? I am someone else's "other." A white, middle class, woman. A descendant of revolutionaries, sea captains, titans of industry, stone masons, and NASA Engineers, I am someone else's other. I am too poor, too sick, too un-formally educated, to be granted entrance to countries with a standard of living on par with what I've become accustom to. There is nowhere else for me to go. I am the unwanted migrant. The refugee that no one wants in their backyard. The person fleeing from a political class of elites who are stealing my future, and other countries would call me a criminal, an outcast, an undesirable.
If I can be someone else's "other," then you are too.
You and I are the ones these talking heads claim are causing the suffering of millions, but how can that be true?
Do you have the time, money or power to rob millions of people? I certainly don't.
Do you have the time, money or power to destroy millions of lives? Hell no!
Do you have the time, money or power to steal the futures of generations? I wouldn't even know where to start!
So, why in the hell do you believe your neighbor does?
There’s a message bein’ piped into our ears, our eyes, very our souls.
Day after day, hour after hour…
And that message is:
"Fear the Other"
In this moment, hear my message:
Your suffering is caused by systems.
System designed to keep you down
Your suffering is caused
By greed without guardrails.
By wealth without conscience.
By power without justice!
Here’s the truth the elites fear:
There is no “other.”
There is only us.
We are not enemies.
We are not strangers.
We are not divided by reality — we are divided by deception.
If we ever stopped pointing fingers at each other…
And started joining hands?
OHHHH if we ever started building instead of blaming?
When we let go of the illusion of “other”…
We tap into a power that the elites can’t control.
That rising tide would be a FLOOD of justice!
They say: “Fear.”
But we say: Hope!
They say: “Divide.”
But we say: Unite!
They say "Other"
And we say, "No More!"
Yes, we are different.
And that’s beautiful.
But we belong to each other.
Every color.
Every faith.
Every story.
One body.
One world.
And that, my friends, is the truth they don’t want you to hear.
Because a united people cannot be ruled by fear.
A united people cannot be bought or broken.
A united people… cannot be conquered.
So the next time they whisper “Be afraid of them…”
You stand tall, child.
You say, “There is no them — there is only us.”
And you let your voice rise.
Let your light shine.
Let the tide come in.
Because this rising tide —
It lifts all boats.
So let us rise.
Let us reach.
And let us drown the lie of the other in the ocean of our unity.
